The Saudi family residence visa, also known as the Dependent Visa or Iqama sponsorship visa, allows expatriates working in Saudi Arabia to sponsor their immediate family members for long-term stay. This visa grants family members legal residency in the Kingdom, including access to healthcare, schooling, and other services.
U.S. citizens and legal residents can apply for a Saudi family residence visa if they are:
Legally employed in Saudi Arabia with a valid Iqama and work contract

The documents generally required include:
Applicants must submit their current, signed passport. A visa is a stamp or sticker applied to the passport by the Embassy or consulate, therefore the original passport is required. The passport must be valid for at least six (6) months, with at least two (2) blank visa pages adjacent to each other not including the last three amendment pages
Applicants must submit FOUR (4) color, IDENTICAL passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.
Applicants must submit 3 copies of Saudi medical completed in the United States.
Physicians must sign each copy of the medical report and put a clinic or personal stamp. In addition copies of blood work lab results and results for HIV, Hepatitis A,B,C and Tuberculosis are required.
Monkeypox test is required, for DC applications it can be substituted with a letter from Doctor stating no signs of infection detected and further testing not needed, letter also should be stamped and signed.
The medical form is valid for 90 days from the test date.. Children under the age of 3 will need to provide vaccination records instead.
Applicant must submit Proof of Kinship to the person sponsoring your residency in Saudi Arabia. For children copy of birth certificate, for spouses copy of marriage certificate.
For Houston applications – you must present ORIGINAL proof of kinship. If your documents are from a country abroad they must be certified and authenticated by the Saudi embassy in the country of origin. The originals will be returned back to you with your visa.
Applicant must submit a copy of Iqama card from the sponsor on the official invitation letter.
Applicants over 16 years of age must submit an FBI background check. We recommend searching for an FBI channeler near your location for an office that would collect fingerprints and provide expedited FBI checks .
Applicants must submit one completed visa application. Applications should be printed single-sided and signed in blue or black ink only.
Only if they hold a valid Saudi work visa and Iqama. Sponsorship is limited to immediate family members.
Dependents must undergo medical tests and apply for their Iqama (residency card) through the sponsor’s employer.
Typically 2 to 5 weeks, depending on the speed of document attestation, visa authorisation, and embassy processing.
