Saudi Arabia for Expats: Ranked 2nd Among Top Countries

Saudi Arabia for Expats

Saudi Arabia’s remarkable transformation has led to it being ranked as the second-best country globally for expats, surpassing prominent nations such as the US, UK, and Belgium, according to the latest Expat Insider survey. Saudi Arabia for Expats has become an increasingly attractive destination, offering a dynamic lifestyle, economic opportunities, and a welcoming environment for expatriates.

The survey, conducted by InterNations, places Saudi Arabia just behind Denmark in the Working Abroad Index, with over half of respondents in the Kingdom expressing positive views about the local job market. This impressive leap from 14th place in 2023 highlights the nation’s rapid development and appeal to expatriates.

Career Opportunities and Job Security

Saudi Arabia excels in career prospects, salary, and job security, topping the list of career opportunities above the US and UAE. The survey indicates that 75% of expats feel their move to Saudi Arabia has significantly enhanced their career prospects, and 62% are satisfied with their career opportunities.
Furthermore, the Kingdom ranks second in the salary and job security subcategory, with 82% of expats expressing high satisfaction with the local economy. Despite this, expats face longer workdays, averaging 47.8 hours per week compared to the global average of 42.5 hours, resulting in lower rankings in work–life balance and working hours subcategories.

Expat Essentials Index

In addition to its high ranking in the Working Abroad Index, Saudi Arabia also shines in the Expat Essentials Index, securing a spot in the top 10. This index evaluates the ease of obtaining visas, managing local bureaucracy, housing affordability and availability, digital life, and the ability to live without knowing the local language. Saudi Arabia ranks 6th worldwide, outperforming Singapore, Mexico, Indonesia, and Kenya.

Testimonials and Future Prospects

One Spanish expat highlighted the availability of work opportunities for highly skilled professionals in Saudi Arabia, reflecting the positive experiences of many expatriates. With its continuous improvements and strategic initiatives, Saudi Arabia is set to become an even more attractive destination for expats worldwide.

The Future is Bright for Expats in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s significant progress and commitment to creating a favourable environment for expatriates are evident in its latest ranking as the second-best country for expats. As the nation continues its transformational journey, it is poised to offer even greater opportunities and quality of life for those seeking to work and live abroad.
